What should I expect?

We know that stepping into an unfamiliar church for the first time can be a little intimidating and maybe even uncomfortable for some people. When you visit CANVAS (at the Performing Arts center at St. John’s Country Day School in Orange Park, FL) you can expect to feel welcomed and accepted—just as you are. CANVAS is a relevant, friendly, and casual church that is filled with singles, families, children, teenagers, babies and adults of every age.
Whoever you are, you will be encouraged by our passionate, full-band worship team and relevant and creative messages. You will notice that CANVAS is very modern, fresh, and exciting. But, more importantly, CANVAS exists to point people toward Jesus.

When you arrive at CANVAS, enter the Performing Arts Center at the front door where you will be greeted with a friendly smile. Signs will direct you toward KidZone and Bubbles Nursery and a helpful Info Station will keep you informed on all upcoming CANVAS events.

Got kiddos? It becomes quickly apparent that CANVAS loves children and provides them with a fun and safe atmosphere in which to learn.
KidZone (ages 4-12) and Bubbles Nursery (babies & toddlers) are located backstage in our beautiful classrooms and can be accessed by walking through the main auditorium along the right hand side. Signs will help you along the way. Your children will sing, make crafts, and connect with other kids their age and might even beg you to bring them back the following week!

Music is so important to every area of our lives…the Church experience is no exception.
The worship at CANVAS is passion-filled and is led by a live band who love what they do! It was recently commented, “CANVAS seems to have music that speaks to everyone, one way or another…” Don’t worry if you don’t know the songs, the words will be projected onto the screens for you. At CANVAS we want everyone to feel comfortable and given every chance to thoroughly enjoy the service. There is also a prayer and ministry segment in most CANVAS services. This gives you a chance to have one of our prayer partners pray with you and believe God for your prayers to be answered.

Aaron Maners, our lead pastor, has a speaking style that is sure to keep everyone engaged and listening. He is creative and clear in communicating each week’s message.
